Doors open! Hope Island Station began services this morning. 💛
The South-East Queensland Transport Association (SEQTA) welcomes today’s opening of Hope Island Station on the Gold Coast line.
The new station is expected to significantly improve public transport connectivity for residents across the northern Gold Coast, while also supporting ongoing population growth in the surrounding corridor.
The opening also comes alongside a number of local bus network changes designed to better integrate surrounding communities into the rail network. While more still needs to be done to deliver high-frequency, reliable public transport across the Gold Coast bus network more broadly, the changes introduced this morning are a positive step forward for connectivity around Hope Island.
SEQTA believes continued investment into rail infrastructure across South-East Queensland remains critical as the region prepares for future growth and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Quotes Attributable to Imogen Buckley, Lead Founder @ SEQTA:
